So this was us down at Pendine sands in 2021. Want to know a little more About us?
After 18 years of living in our home just outside of Cardiff, we had sold our house! We packed up our belongings, some we sold, donated or put into storage, took our 3 kids and set of to follow our hearts and create a life of travel as a family.
After the 2 weeks at Pendine sands, we headed up to Lincolnshire to look at our 5th wheel! She was beautiful! It was a little smaller than what we were used to to say the least, but it just felt right!
Just getting by
Just getting by, this was the story of our lives. With Joel working full time and taking all the overtime he could get and I was a housewife, taking care of the kids and trying to earn extra income, starting multiple businesses working from home to no avail.
Joel and I would talk about dreams of taking the kids abroad on holiday – they had never been on a plane, heck, we had never been abroad on holiday together and we had been together 18 years at the time!
We had been through some rough times together, overweight, depressed, our dreams were just that – dreams. Joel and I were both unfulfilled and quite frankly, keeping our heads above water and floating through life.
Finding faith
Now Joel and I have always believed in a higher source, call it God, Source, Universe, whatever you want to call it. These past 4 years there has been too much happen for us not to believe! Now there is believing and there is BELIEVING!
Gabrielle Bernstien book The Super Attractor was a game changer for us! This book came into our lives at the perfect time. Our home was run down, in need of decorating, we had always wanted to put the kitchen out the back room and have bifold doors out to the garden. Our front room was dark and depressing. One day I was feeling real low, I hated the house! I yearned for something different, either for the house to be decorated and as we wanted or to move to another house.
On the brink of what felt like a breakdown, I found myself praying to god. I said my prayer and handed it over to him. The relief I felt after this was measurable and I got on with my day.
Let the miracles begin!
On 16th February 2020, 2 weeks after I prayed, we got woke up at 4am by a local police officer, Joel and I wondered what the heck was going on, we both came down the stairs together to see what was going on and opened the door to the street completely flooded!
The river had burst it’s bank, Joel and I started taking as much as we could upstairs as the water started coming in from the back door. Now this of course was devastating for the other residents. My father, brother and sister all had homes in the same street that also got flooded and worse than ours. For us however, was the answer to my prayers And that was just the beginning!
